The humiliated Venbapuli started walking towards the Piraan mountain. He was peeved at the humiliation he suffered & kept thinking about the divine form of Siddhar Muthuvaduganatha Swamigal. Tired of walking, he paused to rest under the shade of a tamarind tree. Here, he was bitten by a black cobra.
The poison went to his head and as he was falling unconscious, he thought of the Siddha. As if by magic, the poison swiftly drained out of his body and his life was saved.
However, the snake died. Carrying the dead snake on his shoulders, he walked back to meet the Siddhar. He told him that he has brought for him the Varaal fish which was his favourite. He chopped the fish to pieces, cooked it and brought it to the Siddha. He ate it. After he finished the whole lot, the Master looked at the wicked poet and said, “Here, have a good look at the Varaal you brought for me.” Saying this, he spat out whatever he had eaten. These pieces slowly started joining & came alive as the black cobra & charged at Venbaappuli! |
