There was a severe cholera epidemic in Singampunari. Several families succumbed to this dreadful disease and perished. People were panic stricken. They rushed to the Siddhar who had by now established a name for himself as a divine healer. He ordered them to immediately fetch huge pots of toddy at the rate of one per each street in the town of Singampunari. Meditating on the Divine Mother Annai Varahi, the Siddhar drank the whole of the toddy at one breath & let it out through his anus. That was it. Instantly the town was relieved of the epidemic !
