Anaikaraipatti was a small village close to Singampunari. Here lived Sevukanambalam. He was a landlord. He was also a recipient of Siddha Vidya through the Master’s grace.
One day, the Master appeared in his dream & said with great love, ”Sevak, utilize the 5000 rupees you got yesterday for making an Urchava moorthy for me (Urchavam is akin to what they call ‘Palki’ – an idol which is normally taken around the precincts of the temple once daily to sanctify the premises). He replied hesitantly, “Master, I am a householder, a farmer. I do not know how to make Urchava moorthy.” The Siddha told him, “You go by car to Kaaraikudy with the money. There, this man will be waiting for you. Hand over the money to him.” So saying he showed his devotee the form of the individual who was to receive him at Kaaraikudy & then disappeared!
Sevakanambalam did exactly as he was told. He was welcomed at Kaaraikudy by the man bearing the form shown to him by the Master.
He received him lovingly saying that he was happy to see the man whose form was shown to him in his dream the previous night! He observed fast and made the Moorthy following the injunctions to the last detail and handed it over to the landlord.
Even now, during the Chitra Poornima festival, it is this Moorthy which is the feasting of the eyes of one & all, carried in a chariot to the delight of all the people of the town. Every year a suitable chariot has to be made before the festival. I wonder who will be blessed with the task of making it this year !
