The main service/ seva to our Supreme Siddhar at the Moolasthan in the temple at Singampunari is the Abhisekham. Abhisekhams are carried out with milk, honey, sandal wood paste, pomegranate grains and various fruits. When the milk and sandal wood abhisekhams are carried out, the Moorthi of our Supreme Siddhar actually smiles – this can be seen at the time of Abhisekham and is a matter of personal experience. It is the belief of the devotees that our Supreme Siddhar, who is in Jeeva Samadhi just below the Moorthi actually smiles with happiness at the time of the Divine Abhisekhams.
Abhisekhams are carried out on every Pournami (Full moon day) and Amavasya ( New Moon Day ) by the Hereditary Temple Archakas. The Pournami Abhisekham is carried out at midnight. It is wonderful to see so many people from the near by villages traveling long distances with their milk vessels to make their offering of milk for Abhisekham with great devotion to our Supreme Siddhar.
When the abhisekhams are going on, several devotees experience an Automatic Kundalini awakening, with spontaneous tears coming out of their eyes. Once the tears come out, all the worldly difficulties are dissolved in those tears and the devotees experience great relief. In due time, these devotees turn their attention to meditating on our Supreme Siddhar, who immediately blesses them with significant spiritual progress in a very short time. |
